Overview
The IFP in Media, Communications & Film is a preparatory programme that gives students academic, practical and foundations needed to progress to a wide range of undergraduate degrees in media, film, journalism, communications, and related creative industries. This programme provides a structured transition into higher education by combining theoretical learning, practical media production, and academic skills development, ensuring students are well prepared for the demands of undergraduate study within creative and media-based disciplines. It introduces students to the intellectual frameworks, technical tools, and professional practices that underpin contemporary media and film industries.

There are two start dates for our foundation courses – September and January.
Depending on when prospective students finish their senior school studies, they have the option of beginning their course sooner or slightly later. Both complete in time for a September start at university the following year.

A levels: No entry available.
AS levels: Successful completion of 3 AS levels only – BBB. Please note: For students who have not gone on to study the full A levels. We cannot consider: Critical Thinking/English General Paper/General Studies/Global Perspectives & Research.
American High School Diploma: Successfully complete the high school diploma with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
Dual Diploma Students – National High School Diploma PLUS partial or full completion of International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, SAT or APs or A levels: Students will be assessed on the basis of their National High School Diploma only. Students will need to demonstrate previous study of required subjects for certain Foundation courses. See below for details by country.
International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma: No entry available.
International Baccalaureate Certificates: 555 in three International Baccalaureate Certificates (taken at standard or higher level)
International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IBCP): A grade of ‘Pass’ in the CP core, and two IB Diploma Programme Certificates (taken at standard or higher level) at 5
IELTS Academic 5.5 overall with no skill below 5.5
Pearson Test of English (Academic) 59 overall with a minimum of 54 in each communicative skill
TOEFL iBT (Including Home Edition) 80 overall with a minimum of 20 in each skills
