Overview
Science & Pharmacy Foundation Pathway is an intensive one year foundation course, which will prepare you for a wide range of Science and Pharmacy bachelor degrees.
The Science & Pharmacy Foundation Course enables you to build the strong medical knowledge required to study a biosciences or pharmacy related degree course. This Pharmacy and Medical Science foundation course combines scientific theory and practical elements, so our students leave with the fundamental skills and knowledge needed to progress in any area of the profession.
From genetics to immunology to bionic limbs, there are many developing areas in the field of Science and Pharmacy that will affect our everyday lives in the future. While there is still a lot to discover about the human body, patients’ lives and care are improving all the time and the demand for graduates in this field has never been higher.
Teaching & Facilities
The Science & Pharmacy Foundation Course consists of interactive classroom learning, tutorials and frequent laboratory sessions. We have three custom-built, university grade Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories.
The Science & Pharmacy foundation course is continually assessed, thus removing the pressure of an end of year examination. There will be mid-term examinations throughout the course and an end-of-term examination for each module. In addition, students are required to complete coursework and practical laboratory sessions. We offer a university approved syllabus which fully prepares students for their undergraduate studies. Our teachers are highly qualified and are specialists in their field. The exceptional standard of education allows students to make a smooth transition to undergraduate degree level.

There are two start dates for our foundation courses – September and January.
Depending on when prospective students finish their senior school studies, they have the option of beginning their course sooner or slightly later. Both complete in time for a September start at university the following year.

A levels: No entry available.
AS levels: Successful completion of 3 AS levels only – BBB. Please note: For students who have not gone on to study the full A levels. We cannot consider: Critical Thinking/English General Paper/General Studies/Global Perspectives & Research.
American High School Diploma: Successfully complete the high school diploma with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
Dual Diploma Students – National High School Diploma PLUS partial or full completion of International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, SAT or APs or A levels: Students will be assessed on the basis of their National High School Diploma only. Students will need to demonstrate previous study of required subjects for certain Foundation courses. See below for details by country.
International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma: No entry available.
International Baccalaureate Certificates: 555 in three International Baccalaureate Certificates (taken at standard or higher level)
International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IBCP): A grade of ‘Pass’ in the CP core, and two IB Diploma Programme Certificates (taken at standard or higher level) at 5
IELTS Academic 5.5 overall with no skill below 5.5
Pearson Test of English (Academic) 59 overall with a minimum of 54 in each communicative skill
TOEFL iBT (Including Home Edition) 80 overall with a minimum of 20 in each skills
